Sarah Jean Williams and Kyra Peters, up-and-coming filmmakers using their platforms and talent to create skin health-related educational content for those in the BIPOC community. They are proud members of the First Frame Fellowship, a Neutrogena Studios program to cultivate the next generation of diverse skin health storytellers.
Sarah Jean is a 20 year old writer, actor, and director. She was selected to be a member of Ghetto Film School (GFS), a nonprofit program founded in 2000 to educate, develop, and celebrate the next generation of great American storytellers. While in the program Sarah Jean won the Special Grand Jury Prize for her film, Never Grow Up, and directed Knight Into Day, as part of the GFS/Netflix collaboration for the Netflix Film Club. Besides working behind the scenes, Sarah has participated in multiple productions as the lead actor and performs stand-up comedy. Through filmmaking, she loves telling her own fairytales with characters who look like her. She is also a part of Warner Bros. Reach Honorship Program and is now a student at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, continuing her passion for filmmaking, acting, and storytelling. Kyra is a 22-year-old writer/director, born and raised in the Bronx, New York. She’s an alumni of the Ghetto Film School (Class of 16’) where she was selected to direct the international thesis film, Genesis, in London and write the short film, Little Things, in collaboration with The Frick Film Project. From a young age she’s been attracted to storytelling - whether in novels, cartoons, or her grandmother’s Caribbean folktales. Reflecting on her childhood, she naturally turned to pursuing a career screenwriting for children’s media. She graduated from New York University in 2021, where she studied Film & Television with a minor in Childhood & Adolescent mental health studies, to write impactful stories that encourage kids (and those of us who are kids at heart) to uphold their beliefs, question their world and most importantly themselves.
